Roll-Off Dumpster Rental across the Portland metro area

"Roll-off" describes the equipment, not the project — it's the open-top steel container that arrives on the back of a specialized truck, gets tilted and rolled off onto your driveway or job site, and gets winched back onto the truck when it's full. It's the container behind our residential, commercial and construction services, and it's what most people picture when they think "dumpster rental."

Unlike a full-service junk removal crew that loads debris for you, a roll-off is self-load: you fill it on your own schedule over the rental period, and we handle delivery, pickup and disposal for one flat price. That makes it the more economical option any time you or your crew can do the loading yourselves.

How Roll-Off Delivery Works

Our driver needs a clear, level, roughly 60-foot straight approach to set the container down — a driveway, a curb apron, or a cleared spot on a job site all work. We call ahead to confirm placement, lay protective boards under the container so it doesn't mark asphalt or concrete, and leave it for you to load at your own pace. When you're done, call for pickup — no need to be on site for either trip as long as the container is accessible and clear.

Choosing the Right Size

As a rough guide: 10 yards handles a single room or garage, 15 to 20 yards covers most remodels and multi-room cleanouts, and 30 to 40 yards is built for whole-house projects, larger construction jobs, or commercial buildouts. Weight matters as much as volume — heavier material like roofing or concrete fills the tonnage allowance long before it fills the box, so describe what's going in when you call and dispatch will size it off the material, not just the room count.

Suitability

Is roll-off dumpster rental the right call?

The fastest way to get this right is to check the load against both lists before you book.

Good fits for this container

  • Any self-load project where you or your crew handle the loading
  • Driveway, curb-apron or job-site placement on private property
  • Projects that need a container sitting on-site for several days

Send these somewhere else

  • Jobs where you want a crew to do the loading (see our junk removal service instead)
  • Hazardous or regulated waste that can't go in an open-top container

Roll-Off Dumpster Rental — the Portland-area specifics

From our yard on N Albina Ave near the Kenton neighborhood and Swan Island, our trucks reach the whole metro without much trouble: I-5 and I-405 for close-in Portland, US-26/Sunset Highway west toward Beaverton and Hillsboro, I-205 for the east-side loop through Gresham and down to Oregon City and Milwaukie, and Hwy 99E/McLoughlin or Hwy 99W/Pacific Highway for the Willamette-side communities. Bridges matter for routing too — the Fremont and St. Johns bridges factor into how we cross the Willamette depending on which side of North Portland a delivery starts from.

Answers

Roll-Off Dumpster Rental — your questions answered

What does "roll-off" actually mean?

It's the delivery method: the container rolls off the back of the truck onto your driveway or job site using a hydraulic rail system, rather than being lifted by a crane or hook-truck. It's the standard equipment for a self-load dumpster rental.

How much space do you need to deliver a container?

Roughly a 60-foot straight, level approach and about 10 feet of width for the truck to place it safely. Overhead clearance matters too — let us know about low branches or wires near the drop spot when you book.

How long can I keep a roll-off dumpster?

The standard rental runs about 7 days, and extending it is usually just a phone call — daily and weekly extended rates are available if your project runs longer.

Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?

No, as long as the placement spot is clear and accessible and you've confirmed the location with dispatch ahead of time, we can deliver and pick up without you on site.

What's the difference between a roll-off and junk removal?

A roll-off is self-load — it sits on your property and you fill it yourself. Junk removal is full-service — a crew shows up, loads everything, and hauls it away in one visit. Which one makes sense depends on whether you have the time and people to load it yourself.
